Dia de los Muertos - Detroit 2007
Aztec Dieties Mexican Folkloric Dancers Musicians Altars, Skeletons, & Skulls Videos
This a short video featuring the altar that was set up in the temporary chapel at the Dia de Los Muertos Fiesta held at Detroit's Plaza del Sol. People were encouraged to write the names of their deceased loved ones on the special sheets and leave at this altar. Some included photos as well. Although I didn't realize it at the time, the music as right on.. "como te extrano.." (How I miss you)
This a video of the Mariachi singing a Puerto Rican favorite, "Mi Viejo San Juan." This, also, was at the Dia de Los Muertos Fiesta. If you listen, you'll hear the trumpet player call my name, "Rubi," when he realizes I've got a camera running. . He calls my name at the 59 second mark!
Mexican Dancers, dancing the traditional,"El Jarabe Tapatio." Some great Mexican Youth in Traditional Jalisco dress!
